Shocking news for Surrey - Conservatives plan massive building on our Green Belt

Last year 636,000 migrants came to Britain. 300,000 people left, leaving a net 336,000. That is MORE than the population of Brighton and Hove combined. That rate of immigration has been happening for years, it is unsustainble. Conservatives have repeatedly said they'd get immigration down to 'tens of thousands' but as members of the EU we have NO CONTROL over our borders to EU passport holders.

NB. At this point in any immigration debate, Liberals and shrieking left usually start shouting 'racist' - it's their only response to anything slightly complex and saves them from having to think.

Conservative Tandridge District Council shocked residents with a new Local Plan, requiring at least 9,400 new homes to be built; this figure will rise massivley in due course. The minimum increase in housing in Tandridge is another 26% of the existing but the population increase will be much larger. This will put a massive strain on everything; schools, hospitals, trains, roads, car parking and more. Much of this development will be on Green Belt.

Mass immigration is the 'elephant in the room' that Surrey Tories don't have the guts to talk about, pretending instead that the local, natural population increase is the reason for a building explosion.

5th October 2016. Conservative Councillor Clive Manley RESIGNS ON PRINCIPLE rejecting the Tories plans for overdevelopment and we congratulate him for his integrity. He is joining the Caterham and Chaldon Residents Group. OLRG report HERE.

UKIP forced the Tories to give Britain a referendum on EU membership, which we won, and if we leave the EU and immigration starts to be controlled, then the Local Plan should reflect that. No doubt property developers will want us to stay in the EU - to them, profits come before country.

Local MP Sam Gyimah, pretends to be concerned about over-development but is vigorously pro-EU and pro--immigration. He probably knew about the plans before the General Election but 'forgot' to mention them. Tory Councillor Sally Marks said 'Surrey shouldn't be expected to absorb migration'. But just where do these silly Tories think 336,000 people are going to live?

THE LOCAL PLAN CONSULTATION PERIOD ENDED on the 26th February 2016. Publicity for the consultation was feeble, so few people even heard about it. Stage 2 will start soon but it will no doubt be another impenetrable forest of bureaucracy designed to confuse people. This is what the Tories now call 'democracy'.

In Horley, residents have been alarmed to hear of Tory proposals for a 172 acre business park on unspoilt farmland. This area comes under Conservative Reigate and Banstead Borough Council. A campaign group KEEP HORLEY GREEN has been formed and 2,795 people have signed their petition, you can sign it HERE. Horley has a large number of redundant commercial premises, surely this is where any business park should be built?

Rumours abound that the Tory plan is for those old commercial buildings to be earmarked for residential flats for...you guessed it...our rapidly increasing population.

Conservative Surrey County Council go globetrotting at tax payers' expense...

Thousands of pounds of taxpayers' money was used to fund trips for Surrey County Council officials to watch maths being taught in China and to speak at an American conference on Victorian periodicals, among other things. Figures obtained by the Epsom Guardian from the Freedom of Information Act show the council spent more than £6,300 on overseas trips for staff...read more HERE.
